Second Stop – London

After getting back from Paris Sunday night, Jen had to work on Monday morning and I was left to explore London solo. I took the train to London Bridge and found Borough Market where I did a bit of shopping. It was a bit rainy and chilly so I thought a pint of local brew and some stew with dumplings was in order for lunch. I wandered over to London Bridge that afternoon to listen to the carolers singing in Potters Fields Park overlooking Tower Bridge. I then met Jen at the train and we made our way back to her place for dinner with her friends. We ate, started decorating the tree, got out the Christmas play list and ended the night by watching Love Actually.

I met Jen for lunch the next day at The Chard.  We dined at Hutong while enjoying the views. After lunch, I took the tube up to North London to visit Debbi in her new home. We had a great catch up over a cup of tea and then I was back into the city to meet up with Jen at Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park. We grabbed a sausage with frites, a mug of mulled wine and wandered around the grounds before meeting up with a few of Jen’s friends. We couldn’t stay too late though as we had a flight to catch the next morning and we still had to pack.

About rrettenmier

In September 2010, Dan and I received working visas for the United Kingdom. We sold our condo, quit our jobs and packed our bags to move to London. This blog (though a few months late) is designed to update our friends and family back home about where we are and what we are up to.
