Last Days in Jolly Ole England

After our trip to Bath, we returned to London on Friday, March 16th. That evening we met up with Debbi and Jen for some drinks after their workday. On Saturday afternoon we met Jen for a pint of Guinness at her local pub to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. We then walked to King’s Cross station to see Dan off to the airport. Dan is going to meet up with his friend Zack in Brisbane, Australia. He is heading to Byron Bay and will spend most of his time on the Sunshine & Gold Coast areas. Can’t wait to hear his updates about his trip to OZ!

On Sunday, Jen and I walked down to Regent’s Park and then down to Covent Garden to watch a movie. We went to see “In Darkness”, a brilliant subtitled film about war time in Poland when a man hid Jewish refugees in the sewer system for 14 months.

On Monday, I met Jen and we went for lunch in the Soho area near her office. That afternoon I walked around London and went to visit the National Gallery in Trafalgar square to look at some Monet paintings. That evening we went to the musical Wicked. Great show!

Tuesday, March 20th was my last day in London. I met Debbi for lunch and went for dinner in Leadenhall Market with my cousin, Tim, who happened to be in London for business. Then on Wednesday, March 21st I flew back to Calgary for a visit. Dan meets me there on April 1st. We look forward to seeing you all again very soon!

About rrettenmier

In September 2010, Dan and I received working visas for the United Kingdom. We sold our condo, quit our jobs and packed our bags to move to London. This blog (though a few months late) is designed to update our friends and family back home about where we are and what we are up to.
