Dubai

Our last 2 nights in Abu Dhabi were spent visiting the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque and the Emirates Palace Hotel, both truly amazing places to visit. We left for Dubai on Friday December 9th, after Dan played a round of golf at the Yas Links Golf Course. Our hotel in Dubai was conveniently attached to the Mall of the Emirates, famous for it’s indoor ski hill. That night we met up with Dustin, an expat living and working in Dubai and he took the 5 of us (Piter from Italy, Dan’s coworkers Bardhyl & Ervin, and the 2 of us) to the Jumeriah Souk where we had a delicious dinner and took a boat ride. The next day Dustin picked us up and we headed to the beach for the morning. Afterwards we drove to Dubai Mall, the largest mall in the world. We visited the aquarium and stood at the base of the Kalifa tower, the world’s tallest structure. That evening we did some shopping in the Mall of the Emirates before retiring for our early morning flight back to Albania. We really enjoyed our time there and would highly recommend it to anyone!

About rrettenmier

In September 2010, Dan and I received working visas for the United Kingdom. We sold our condo, quit our jobs and packed our bags to move to London. This blog (though a few months late) is designed to update our friends and family back home about where we are and what we are up to.
