Corfu with The Mom’s

After Dan dropped us off at the ferry terminal on the afternoon of Sunday, September 25th, we took the 1.5 hour journey across the Ionian Sea to the Greek Island of Corfu. That evening we walked through the Old Town and found a nice spot for dinner. We had theTaramasalata to start, followed by Greek salad, Moussaka and Roasted Lamb. Rex’s Restaurant was a big hit!
The next morning we set out on foot to the Old Fortress for some spectacular views of the city. From there we wandered through Old Town, stopping along The Liston for an Iced Cappuccino. We had Gyros for lunch near the New Fortress before returning to the Cavalieri Hotel for a cocktail on the rooftop. That evening we tried Veal Sofrito(a Corfiot dish), Meatballs, and Chicken Souvlaki. We wish we had gone back to Rex’s though.
Our last day we decided to take the bus out to Glyfada beach. We spent the day lazing in the sun and playing in the small waves. That evening we enjoyed dinner from the rooftop of our hotel, overlooking the lights of the Old Fortress. I think both Judy and Bev both enjoyed Corfu town immensely!

About rrettenmier

In September 2010, Dan and I received working visas for the United Kingdom. We sold our condo, quit our jobs and packed our bags to move to London. This blog (though a few months late) is designed to update our friends and family back home about where we are and what we are up to.
