The Mom’s Have Arrived

Dan’s mom, Judy, and my mom, Bev, both arrived in Albania on September 20th. Judy spent 10 days traveling through Greece including Athens, Mykonos and Santorini before flying to Tirana. We spent the first couple days in Vlora and then headed south on Friday afternoon down the Albanian Riviera. We spent our first night in Himare at a nice resort. Then Saturday midday we continued south towards Saranda, stopping in Borsh for lunch at Uji Vara restaurant, better known as the waterfall restaurant. After lunch we drove to Saranda and got a room at the Grand Hotel. We walked along the promenade and found a nice spot for dinner and the ladies all had local fish. The next morning we drove to the archaeological site of Butrint and spent some time on the beach in Ksamil before Dan dropped the 3 of us off at the ferry terminal to Corfu. It was a beautiful weekend and we were happy to spend some time in Himare and Saranda, both places we haven’t spent much time in!

About rrettenmier

In September 2010, Dan and I received working visas for the United Kingdom. We sold our condo, quit our jobs and packed our bags to move to London. This blog (though a few months late) is designed to update our friends and family back home about where we are and what we are up to.
